                CHAPTER THREE
A sleek fox stalked a mouse. Her green eyes watched, her mouth watering. She quietly followed it until is stopped in its tracks. The fox sprang up and leaped on the mouse. She finished it off quickly. She picked up the mouse in her mouth, and turned around and ran off. "This will be good to feed to my pups" She thought to herself. She treaded lightly; the only thing on her mind was her pups.
When the fox reached her den, she walked inside and dropped the mouse. The pups yipped with happiness and rushed to the mouse to eat. Three little pups… hers. She sighed and walked outside her den.
She sat down. All of a sudden she heard a growl. A grey fox jumped in front of her. "You Rogue! You're on my clan territory!" The grey fox growled. The sleek fox looked at the grey fox. "Tree Star, Is that you?" Tree Star looked at the fox. "Yes, it is me, but I want you to leave my territory now!" "Tree Star, please let me and my three pups join your clan!" The sleek fox pleaded.
Tree Star rolled her eyes. "No. Silver foxes aren't allowed in my clan territory. You know how bad it will make me look?!" The fox looked at Tree Star with pleading eyes. "Please, Tree Star! I won't be like the outside clans! I never was! That's why they banished me!"
Tree Star thought for a moment, "I suppose. Take your pups and let's head back to my clan camp. Oh. And what's your name?" "My name is Silver Streak" Tree Star smiled and turned around and started walking. Silver Streak quickly gathered her pups and followed Tree Star.
"I'm not so sure what my clan…or the other clans might think of this; Well, don't mind them! You are perfect for who you are!" Tree Star said, trying not to offend Silver Streak.

Tree Star entered the encampment. There were grey foxes climbing all over stuff, and pups practicing their tree climbing skills on medium, young trees.  Silver Streak stepped behind Tree Star, into the encampment. All the Tree Clan foxes stopped and froze. They all turned their heads to look at Silver Streak and her three pups.
Silver Streak stopped and looked around. She got down to her belly, disturbed by the hostile glares. Her pups yipped and played around. Tree Star smiled and jumped onto her Den Rock.
"I have an announcement to make," Tree Star, started off. The clan gathered in front of the Den Rock. "I have found a lone silver fox; she was banished from her clan, for she was never a murderer. I decided to take her and her three pups into our clan. I don't want to hear your disagreements, this is done. And Silver Streak, if you ever purposely harm a clan fox, your pups die."
The clan looked over at Silver Streak. Silver Streak gulped and nodded, her pups all cuddled up on her leg. The clan foxes looked at Silver Streak's pups in disgust; their silver pelts glistening in the sun. Tree Star smacked her paw down. "Stop it, all of you! Go back to what you were doing!" She demanded. The clan split up and went back to what they were doing. Tree Star sighed. "Alright, I'll show you where your den is." Silver Streak and her pups followed Tree Star.
Tree Star led them to a large den. "This used to be my mother's before she died of old age," Tree Star sniffled. "I hope you take good care of it, and I meant what I said if you ever try to hurt a clan member," She looked at the pups. "I'm not afraid to do it, I'll do what I have to do, Silver Streak, I'm trusting you especially since I have accepted you into my clan, I expect a lot from you"
Silver Streak looked at Tree Star and nodded; she bowed in respect and went inside her den with her pups. Silver Streak sighed and put her pups to bed. "I need you 3 to behave for me. Ignore the clan if they're mean to you!" The pups nodded. "Yes mama!" They all curled up next to each other and fell asleep. "How cute they are" Silver Streak smiled. Silver Streak walked outside. She decided she would go to the clan river. She was just about to exit the encampment when a growl came behind her. "Where do you think you're going?! You think that Tree Star would let you out of the camp? I think you're up to something." Silver Streak spun around and a large male fox stood before her.
Silver Streak rolled her eyes. "I'm not like the rest of them. I was just going to the clan river so I could relax.  Why would I be up to something?" The male looked at her suspiciously. "Well. At least let me go with you?" Silver Streak turned her head. "Sure I guess. If you can keep up with me. They call me Silver Streak for a reason!" She laughed and bounded off. She ran so fast she was there within minutes. The male's jaw dropped and started walking, which would average out to be half an hour's walk.
Silver Streak took a drink of water. It was night time. The forest seemed enchanted. It was beautiful and had wonderful glows. She stared at her reflection in the water. All of a sudden she saw a silver form behind her. She turned around, she narrowed her eyes. "I knew I would find you, Silver Streak, did you honestly think you can hide from me? Then again, us?"
Silver Streak snarled. "No. But I'm in a clan now, so maybe you should just leave me alone!" The silver coated male laughed. "Oh, really? I didn't expect The Four Fox Clans to accept a silver fox into their clan. I was hoping you would come back to me, love, you DID give birth to my dear pups." "Do you expect me to believe that you give a crap about my pups?! Why would I EVER go back to YOU? All you do is abuse me and you even tried to KILL my pups! "
The male sighed. "I knew you would be a tough one. Oh, why did I ever fall for you? Your one ice blue, and one emerald green eye are just so breath taking, you're so beautiful…" He trailed off. Silver Streak roared and lunged at him. She bit him in the throat and pinned him down. "Let me go!" "No! I am going to kill you!" She bit down on his throat. He coughed and struggled in her grasp. "Pl...Please…s…Silver…streak…" She held him there until he finally died. Silver Streak let go and stood over him. She picked him up by the scruff and dragged him out of the Tree Clan territory, and into Silver Fox clan territory, she tossed him quickly and ran back into Tree Clan's clan river. She got into the river and washed her fur.
The large male from Tree Clan finally arrived after Silver Streak had dried off. "Ummm, my name is Bark Pelt, if you're wondering…" Silver Streak turned around. "Took you long enough to get here!"  Bark Pelt turned his head. He smelt blood, fresh blood. "What happened here?" "My ex came here so I killed him…" Bark Pelt widened his eyes. "Oh…" Silver Streak sat back down.
Bark Pelt sat next to her. "So... Silver Streak, How did you end up as a…well not aggressive Silver Fox?" "Well... I was too nice for them. I refused to kill anybody, so they banished me. Said I was too weak to be one of them. I was pregnant at the time and I lived in about a mile away for about 3 months, then that's when Tree Star found me."
Bark Pelt nodded. "Oh, I see. Well I'm just glad you're in my clan! " He smiled.  "Uh… Bark Pelt. Do you like me or something?" His smile turned into a puzzled mouth, his eyes widened and his ears flattened. "No…" "Don't lie to me! " "Ok… fine. Yes. I do. You're beautiful and I love you for who you are. You're different, and I love that"
Silver Streak blushed. "Oh…well then. I like you too. Except the fact you didn't trust me earlier!" Bark Pelt flattened his ears. "I'm sorry! But then when you turned around, you were like an angel, I couldn't resist!" Silver Streak nuzzled him. "Ok…" Bark Pelt look surprised. He licked her cheek and smiled. "Oh um, I best be going back to my pups…" She got up and walked to her den. Bark Pelt still stayed at the river, and sighed happily. He got up and walked back to the camp as well.
Silver Streak entered her den. She noticed one of her pups was missing. She panicked. She ran out of her den. "Alyssa! Where are you?!" She called. There was no response. Her heart pounded in her chest. Where was Alyssa? Tree Star stepped out of her den. "What's wrong?" "One of my pups, Alyssa, she went missing! And my sense of smell isn't very strong..." Tree Star nodded. "I'll send my best trackers to go retrieve her. You can go with him if you want."
Tree Star turned around and went to a tall thin grey-brown fox. "Swift Tracker; I need you to take Silver Streak and find her missing pup. Please, hurry!" The fox nodded and walked to Silver Streak. "Can you run fast?" he asked her. Silver Streak scoffed. "Of course, they don't call me Silver Streak for nothing!"
Swift Tracker nodded and set off running. "You sure you have her scent?" Silver Streak asked, running by his side. "Yes. Your pups smells can't be mistaken. They're more unique than ours," Silver Streak wasn't sure whether to take that as a compliment or a offence. All of a sudden, there was a mewling sound in the distance. It sounded distressed. Silver Streak's heart pounded.
"She's close. That's her voice." Silver Streak insisted. "Alright... She smells close too." Silver Streak followed her daughter's voice. She then found the distressed pup. It had wandered off, chasing a butterfly. The pup had fallen and injured her leg. Silver Streak nuzzled Alyssa and picked her up.
"Her leg is injured but, it will heal in time." Swift Tracker pointed out. "Ok. Well we better hurry back before any more of my pups wander off." She sprinted back to her den. She looked to see if her other pups were still asleep. They still lay there curled up.  Silver Streak went to the medics den. She peered inside. "Hello?" Just then, a fox came out, she was grey and reddish. "Yes, what is it?" "Well my pup wandered off and got injured, I found her before she got eaten." "Ah, I see. Her leg. Do you mind if I keep her here until she is fully healed?" Silver Streak thought for a moment. "No, not at all. Go ahead. I'll check back on her tomorrow. She'll probably miss me," Silver Streak handed the medic her pup. The medic nodded and went into the den.
Silver Streak entered her den. She stopped abruptly. There was a black form standing over her pups. The form's eyes were a glowing orange. "Who...Who are you?! Get away from my pups!" The fox laughed. "Your pups, will die!" "What? No! You won't touch them!" The Figure leaned down and sung a lullaby before she snapped one of the pup's neck. Silver Streak's jaw dropped.
She growled. "N...No!" The figure did the same to the other pup. Silver Streak snarled, for she was just shattered inside. "You killed my mate, so your pups die. I want you to suffer!" Silver Streak had tears down her cheeks. "No!!!!!!" She snarled, her eyes flashed blood red. She glowed a reddish aura it seemed. She lunged at the dark figure, but it merely disappeared and re appeared behind her and gave her bite on the neck. Silver streak flipped over and grasped the figure on the throat; she tore at the fox, full of fury. The figure, being soaked in her own blood snarled and disappeared.
Silver Streak cried out in agony, she had been poisoned, she walked to her pups. What did she ever do to deserve this? She got dizzy and collapsed. Some of the clan rushed into the den. She saw a bright white light. "I must..." "Don't go to the light! Stay here with us! Please!" Tree Star's voice caught her attention, she blinked and the light was gone. She screamed in agony. "Tree Star, she may not make it. She was poisoned pretty badly..." Silver Streak shut her eyes slowly, her breathing slowed down...her heart beat rang in her ears...slower...slower....
